My name is Nicole Matsuyama. I've been working with Daily Call for about 6 years now. I moved from Texas to Hokkaido almost 7 years ago because of my husband's job. I currently live in a tiny town outside of Asahikawa called Higashikawa-cho. It's famous for the Daisetsu Mountain Range (including Asahidake) and borders one of the most beautiful towns in Japan, Biei-cho. I enjoy all kinds of sports, especially triathlon and swimming. Every year I take place in events like the Chubetsuko Triathlon and from this year the Biei Century Ride (160km bicycle ride). My husband is involved with a professional soccer team and therefore I also have learned to enjoy soccer. I have 2 children, one daughter and one son. I have a small garden and raise vegetables in the summer. This year I planted potatoes, corn, peas, carrots, pumpkin, tomatoes, strawberries, and raspberries. I work part-time at my friend's farm during the rice-planting season and broccoli season. In my free time I study Korean and make baskets using a special technique called I love watching TV and movies, but recently haven't had the time to really sit down and relax. Summer is a busy time in Hokkaido. Can't wait for the winter! Nicole
